Men and women’s basketball each got a win, with the women on a 4-game win streak as they head towards the MAC Tournament and a likely March Madness berth, while the men snapped a 3-game losing streak and showed a bright spot towards the end of a rough year. Both tennis teams won their most recent match, with the men on a 4-game win streak after a slow start, and the women improving to a remarkable 13-1.
UB Swimming & Diving came in 4th out of 8 schools at the MAC Champsionships over the weekend. Senior Mari Kwak and junior Mallory Hanna took gold and bronze in the 1-meter dive, while the Bulls owned the medal stand in the 3-meter dive, with Kwak taking gold again, followed by Presley Dorsett and Sophie Meuwissen. The relay team of Mia Naccarella, Ball Forsman, Sawyer Bosley, and Abbey Gardner took silver in the 800-yard freestyle. Forsman also won silver in the 400-yard 1M, and Naccarella took home silver medals in the 100-yard and 200-yard Backstrokes. Junior Ava Cunningham won bronze in the 500-yard freestyle. Sophomore Jillian Strine also won a dramatic swim-off against Toldeo’s Janne Slegers by a mere 0.11 seconds. Overall the Bulls finished fourth, but closer in points to first place than fifth.
