History of College Radio: 1997
WRUB co-founder Chris Miller looks back at college radio’s best music from each of the last 25 years. We kick things off with his first solid year of 1997!
We look back at 1997 and remember the introduction of the Emergency Alert System in the United States, Bill Clinton’s second term as President, and Madeleine Albright makes history as the first female Secretary of State.
Billy Crystal hosts the 69th (sweet!!) Annual Academy Awards, where The English Patient wins Best Picture and those shiny discs your parents let you break for art projects are introduced to the world.
Lots of other really wonderful and/or terrible things happened in 1997, but we’ll let Chris tell you all about that and play enjoyable music.
