Buffalo Sports Calendar – April 15-21, 2024

UB Track and Field had a busy weekend at the Bison Classic last weekend, dominating in several events. The Men’s Decathlon and Women’s Heptathlon took up the entire first day and most of the second. UB dominated the Heptathlon, with a 1-2 finish from senior Scilla Benussi and junior Angela Forster. Benussi finished first in 100m Hurdles, Shot Put, and Javelin; Forster finished first in High Jump and second in Javelin.

Junior Kevin Gabalski took the bronze in the Decathlon, finishing 1st in Long Jump and 110m Hurdles, 2nd in the 100m, and 3rd in Discus Throw. Freshman teammtaes Noah Ruffer and Brady Hughes finished 7th and 9th overall in a field of 12. Hughes finished 2nd in Discus.

In individual events, senior Evan Hilbert took gold in the Men’s 1500m; Junior Tal Hamel finished 1st in the Men’s 200m; Jonathan Surdej took bronze in the Men’s Shot Put; freshman Manual Sepulveda finished 3rd in the Men’s Triple Jump; senior Imahni Sinclair finished 3rd in the Women’s Hammer Throw.

Sophomore Vassi Klock finished 4th in a field of 47 in the Women’s 300m Steeplechase; freshman Aleksandra Szulska finished 4th out of 76 in the Women’s 5000m; senior Caleb Nickens finished 4th in the Men’s Hammer Throw; and Michael Parks finished 4th in the Men’s 110m Hurdles.

Elsewhere, Men’s Tennis finished their disappointing season on a loss; the women’s team have two more matches before the MAC Tournament; and Softball have five games to play this week. The Bisons are on the road.
