Hungary’s parliament approved Sweden’s application to join NATO.

Hungary and Turkey were the last members of NATO to ratify Sweden’s bid. “Sweden is leaving 200 years of neutrality and military non-alignment behind,” said Swedish prime minister Ulf Kristersson.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden won the Michigan Republican and Democratic primaries, respectively.

Trump won with 68% of the vote in the Republican primary, again beating rival Nikki Haley. In the Democratic primary, around 13% of voters voted for “uncommitted,” a protest against Biden’s support for Israel. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court announced it will hear arguments about whether Trump is immune from prosecution.

Mitch McConnell announced he will step down as the Republicans’ leader in the Senate after the election in November.

McConnell has held the role since 2007; at the age of 82, he has had several health scares. The internal contest to replace him immediately began, with senators already declaring their candidacy or expressing support for their preferred candidates.
