Senate Republicans blocked a compromise bill that tied stricter border control measures to military aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Donald Trump made clear that Republicans should not work with Democrats on the border, as he wants to keep the issue alive for the election. Democrats then separated the military-aid package into a different bill.

A federal appeals court in Washington, DC, rejected Donald Trump’s claim that he is immune from prosecution for trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump argued that he is immune from criminal prosecution for actions he took as president. “Former President Trump has become citizen Trump,” the ruling read, “with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant.”

The House of Representatives rejected a vote to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

The effort began as a response to Mayorkas’ remarks that the southern border was secure. Several Republicans joined Democrats in opposing the measure.
