President Biden officially launched his campaign for reelection in 2024.
At 80 years old, he is the oldest president to ever run for reelection, and would be 82 at his reinauguration. The President stated America was still in a battle for its soul with Republican extremists. Former president Donald Trump is presumed to be the Republican candidate, if he will not be in prison.
At least five people were killed in a mass shooting in Texas.
The gunman opened fire on his neighbors after being asked to stop firing rounds in his yard. An 8-year old was among the victims. The attacker has been charged with five counts of murder.
Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon were abruptly removed from their positions at Fox News and CNN, respectively.
Carlson was likely considered a liability by Fox News, which just paid $787.5m to Dominion Voting Systems for broadcasting fake claims about its voting machines. Lemon, who was fired shortly after Carlson, had been accused of mistreating female coworkers and making sexist comments in the past.
Saudi Arabia and Iran will reopen embassies in each other’s capitals.
Last month the enemies agreed to restore diplomatic relations, which broke down in 2016, in a deal brokered by China. The wars in Yemen and Syria, in which the two countries have backed opposite sides, contributed to the decay of the relations.
