The Uvalde massacre has become the deadliest school shooting in a decade. It comes just a week after the Buffalo mass shooting at Tops Market, where ten people were killed in a planned white supremacist attack.
Russian forces continue to make progress in the Donbas region of Ukraine.

The United States imposed new sanctions on financial establishments with ties to North Korea’s weapons program.
The sanctions include two Russian banks, among others. Following the recent presidential election in South Korea, North Korea increased its testing of rockets and is preparing to test a nuclear device. China and Russia vetoed implementing stricter sanctions through the United Nations Security Council.
