Lead On! — Dr. Brian Hamluk
Welcome back and happy first day of classes! Today we had a great conversation with our new Vice President of Student Life, Dr. Brian Hamluk. Dr. Hamluk talked to us about what it means to be a leader at a higher education institution. As a new leader at UB, he mentioned the importance of adaptive leadership, the practice of changing your approach based on the situation. Dr. Hamluk also talked at length about the importance of mentors, finding one and utilizing their experience to shape your career. In the last few minutes, Dr. Hamluk offered us some great advice: practice leadership, find a mentor, and keep a leadership journal.
