The 53rd Annual Snubby Awards

Usually on Why Is This Not a Movie? we talk about movies that don’t exist but should. But this week we’re talking about movies that do exist, should have been nominated for an Oscar, but weren’t. The Snubby Awards honor the best films and performances of 2020 that weren’t nominated by the Academy, as well as films in three categories the Academy refuses to recognize: Stuntwork, Voicework, and Casting. We’ll list the nominees here, but to find out who wins, you have to tune in!

And if you want to talk about more films that were overlooked this year, find the show on Twitter @whymovie, or the site @subject_media
